In the prestigious setting of the Casa del Mantegna in Mantua, Ōki Izumi presents a new installation entitled “Rough Sea”.
The installation consists of 12 industrial glass panes supported by iron brackets placed on white marble granules.

Rough Sea
Light, ideal medium for a dialogue between nature and culture.
My installation was inspired by this symbolic encounter, creating with slabs of industrial glass, waves rippled by brilliant light reflections, which break into the harmonious space created by Renaissance Man.
Thanks to light, the glass panes lose their original hardness and coldness, are enlivened with new life, thus celebrating the eternal renewal innate in the forces of the nature.
